Follow the instructions below to disable your shutter camera sound on your Galaxy S4, don’t worry this doesn’t need your smartphone to be rooted:

  1. Pull down the status bar on the top and tap once on the speaker icon.
  2. Your phone is now changed into the vibrate mode. Thus all sounds, like ringtones and alert tones are deactivated. Your camera shutter sound also will be deactivated in this mode.
  3. Open the camera app on your Galaxy S4, and try to take a picture. You’ll hear no sound from your phone when you press the camera button.

Don’t forget to reset your phone to the “loud” mode again, if you want to activate the sound. You can do this by pulling the status bar down, and tap on the speaker icon. You can do it very quickly with no root on your phone.
